Archive Basics
The Archive is intended as a permanent storage area. Whenever an item moves to the Archive, it is stored for future reference indefinitely.
Archiving Considerations
-
Only a user with Administrator permission can archive, restore, or delete items in the Archive.
-
Users with lesser permissions cannot archive a user with elevated permissions. For example, a site admin cannot archive a user with global admin permissions.
-
When you delete an item from the Archive it is permanently removed and cannot be retrieved.
-
A content item that is part of an active campaign (pending or started campaign) cannot be archived. It will archive when the date is beyond the archived date setting, and after all campaigns the item is linked to are also archived. Archiving is prevented until the campaign is archived to ensure all users complete their assigned tasks.
-
A campaign with active tasks cannot be restored if it contains archived items, until those items are also restored.
-
When a content item is restored to Pending or Published/Started status, incomplete reading/completion tasks are reactivated. If the item was set to be due on a date interval (a specific number of days after the reading/completion task was assigned) or the Recurrence option was set, the interval starting date is reset to when the item was restored.
-
An archived content item can be restored if a new version has not been approved.
