Restoring a Backup

You can restore a PolicyTech database backup using the Database Manager.

Note: If PolicyTech is hosted by NAVEX, you need to contact NAVEX Customer Support by submitting a request in the Community to request a restore of the database backup.

  1. Click Settings & Tools > Tools, and then click Database Manager.

    Important: It is important to back up the database in its current state before restoring an older backup. For detailed instructions, see Backing Up a Database.

  2. Click Restore Backup.
  3. For the backup you want to restore, click Restore, click Yes to confirm , and then click Yes again to clear the message.
  4. When the database is completely restored, the login window displays. Log in as you normally would.

    Important: Backups using Microsoft SQL Server (.bak files) cannot be restored with the Restore Backup feature in PolicyTech. If you should need to have this type of backup restored, contact NAVEX Customer Support by submitting a request in the Community for assistance.
