Installing User Provisioning Service

The User Provisioning Service installs as a service in Windows.

Install UPS

  1. Obtain the User Provisioning Service module from NAVEX Customer Support.

  2. Using the link provided by Customer Support, download the NAVEX User Provisioning Service installation package (a .msi file), and follow the prompts to install the service.

Set Permissions

  1. On the computer where User Provisioning Service is installed, create a user.
  2. In Windows, open Services.
  3. Right-click NAVEX User Provisioning Service, and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Log On tab, and then click This account.
  5. Type the user name or click Browse. Find, and select the user you just created.
  6. Type the user's password twice, and then click OK.
  7. In Windows Explorer, right-click the folder where User Provisioning Service was installed (C:\Program Files (x86)\NAVEX Global\User Provisioning Service by default), and then click Properties.
  8. Click the Security tab, click Edit, and then use Add to add the user you created.
  9. With the added user selected, select Allow for Full control, and then click OK.
  10. Make sure that the user you just added, and Administrators are the only users with full control and that all other listed users' permissions are restricted, and then click OK.
