Approving a Document or Assessment
If you have been assigned the approver role, an owner can assign you to approve a document or an assessment. Then, when it is submitted for approval, you will receive a task notification email and a task is added to your My Tasks list.
Note: If, in addition to being assigned the approver role, you have been assigned the Completes Approval Assignments in Bulk role, you can complete multiple document approval tasks at once. See Approving Multiple Documents at Once for details.
Getting there
From a task notification email

Open the task notification email, and then click the link.
From the navigation pane

Click My Tasks, expand the Approve group, and then click the title.
Approve a Document or Assessment
- Check for and review all supplementary materials and the attached assessment (for documents only).
- Read the document or assessment carefully and completely.
- (Optional) To see if other assigned approvers have revised or declined the document/assessment and their reasons for doing so, click the Overview tab, and then click Approver Status. Click an approver's name to see any comments.
- Accept, revise, or decline the document, or accept or decline the assessment.
