Supported Features

There is a set of tasks supported by the PolicyTech Mobile app and some additional tasks supported by PolicyTech in a mobile web browser.

Tasks Supported in the PolicyTech Mobile App

The tasks you can perform using the PolicyTech Mobile app are listed below by user type.

For All Users

• Search for documents by title, full text, keyword, and reference number
• Browse for documents by status, site, department, your relationship to the document, document assignee, or category
• View the contents of any published PDF or HTML document you have permission to access

Note: Word documents (except for draft documents) are automatically converted to PDF for mobile viewing.

• Quickly open favorite or recently accessed documents
• See your assigned tasks
• Complete a document's questionnaire
• Mark an assigned document as read
• Add a comment for the document owner or participate in a discussion
• View a note added by the document owner
• View your organization's or personal dashboard (if enabled)

For Assigned Reviewers and Approvers

• View the contents of any PDF or HTML document in the Review (reviewers only) or Approval (approvers only) status

Note: Word documents are automatically converted to PDF for mobile viewing in the above mentioned statuses.

• Accept or decline documents you've been assigned to review or approve

Note: Revising an assigned document in review or approval requires the desktop web browser version of PolicyTech.

For Document Owners and Administrators

• Access all of a document's Overview pages, including Properties, Version History, assignee status pages, Links, and Security

Note: In Version History, you can view change summaries of previous versions, but viewing or comparing the full text of a previous version requires the desktop web browser version of PolicyTech.

• Submit a document for writing (collaboration), review, approval, or periodic review
• Indicate that no revision is necessary for a document due for periodic review
• Archive a document

PolicyTech Mobile App Limitations

The following tasks cannot be performed using the PolicyTech Mobile app, but are possible using PolicyTech in a mobile web browser:

• Opening a document directly from a notification email
• Opening an Excel or PowerPoint document, or any other document not in PDF or HTML format
• Opening attachments

Tasks Supported by PolicyTech in a Mobile Web Browser

• All tasks supported by the PolicyTech Mobile app
• Opening a document directly from a notification email
• Opening any type of PolicyTech document, if the mobile device has the appropriate viewer
• Opening attachments, if the mobile device has the required viewers

Tasks Requiring the Desktop Web Browser Version of PolicyTech

Many PolicyTech tasks can only be done using the full, desktop web browser version of the application. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Most document owner tasks, including adding new documents, editing (revising) documents, creating a new document version, modifying Properties Wizard Settings, adding attachments, and using Tools options
• Revising a document as an assigned reviewer or approver
• Generating reports
• Configuring System Settings

Note: If you attempt to use a feature not supported by the mobile app or mobile web browser version, you'll see a message stating that the feature requires the desktop web browser version of PolicyTech.
