Revising an Uploaded Document (Windows)
Important: Revising a document sends it back to draft status where the document owner must restart the review and approval process. You may want to consider starting a discussion thread first (see Starting a Document Discussion) to avoid unnecessary process delays.
- With the document open that you've been assigned to review or approve, click Revise, and then click Revise again to confirm.
- In the File Information window, click the name of the uploaded file.
- You should now see a prompt with options to open or save the file. Click Open.
Note: Your system prompt may look different than the one below, depending on which operating system and version your computer is using.
- The file opens in whichever program is associated with that file type in your Windows or Mac settings. Make your revisions, and then save the file to disk.
- Back in the File Information window, click Import / Overwrite.
- Click Browse, find and select the revised file you saved to disk, and then click Open to add the file name to the Upload New Document window.
- Click Upload File, and then click OK.
- Click Done Revising.
- Type an explanation of the changes you made.
Important: You can't move on until you type an explanation.
- (Optional) To add what you wrote to this document's discussion board, select the Post to Discussion Board check box (see Working with Document Discussions for details).
- Click Save, and then click OK.
