Revising an Uploaded Document (Windows)

Important: Revising a document sends it back to draft status where the document owner must restart the review and approval process. You may want to consider starting a discussion thread first (see Starting a Document Discussion) to avoid unnecessary process delays.

  1. With the document open that you've been assigned to review or approve, click Revise, and then click Revise again to confirm.
  1. In the File Information window, click the name of the uploaded file.
  1. You should now see a prompt with options to open or save the file. Click Open.

Note: Your system prompt may look different than the one below, depending on which operating system and version your computer is using.

  1. The file opens in whichever program is associated with that file type in your Windows or Mac settings. Make your revisions, and then save the file to disk.
  2. Back in the File Information window, click Import / Overwrite.
  1. Click Browse, find and select the revised file you saved to disk, and then click Open to add the file name to the Upload New Document window.
  2. Click Upload File, and then click OK.
  1. Click Done Revising.
  1. Type an explanation of the changes you made.

Important: You can't move on until you type an explanation.

  1. (Optional) To add what you wrote to this document's discussion board, select the Post to Discussion Board check box (see Working with Document Discussions for details).
  2. Click Save, and then click OK.
