Opening a Document from the File Information Window

When opening a document, you may see a File Information window like the one below instead of the document contents.

  1. Click the document file name.
  1. Do one of the following depending on what you see:
  1. If you're using a Windows computer and are prompted to open or download the document, click Open. The document opens in a separate window in whatever is currently the Windows default application for the document file type.
  2. If you're using a Mac computer, the file is immediately downloaded when you click the file name. In the Dock at the bottom of your screen, click Downloads, and then click the downloaded file to open it in its default application.

Notes:

  • Your Windows or Mac operating system controls which program is used to open a specific type of file.
  • You must have the default program installed on your computer in order to open the document. If you can't open the document, contact you document control administrator for help.
